A little more about me:
- I love cooking! Two of my favorite recipes are green chile stew with lamb & black bean chocolate cake. I also make pupusas & Salvadoran quesadilla (which is not tortillas y queso, sino un pan dulce).
- I dance and have taught Cuban Salsa (Casino/Rueda de casino). I took classes in Corvallis, Oregon for three years with Rumbanana and started teaching at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, NM.
- I served as a Youth Development Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Honduras from 2005-2007.
- Before graduate school, I worked as a migrant education specialist with out-of-school Latino youth, as a youth advocate at a crisis residential center, and as an intern with DSHS Adolescent Unit, Family Reconciliation Services.
